About

The Speakers Panel (Planning) is a committee of up to 14 Tameside councillors responsible for determining specific planning applications and related matters.

This includes applications called in by councillors, those involving members or senior officers, and applications made by the Council itself, provided they align with adopted policies. The panel also determines applications for advertisements, tree preservation, conservation, hazardous substances, and building regulations, and can authorise highway changes and traffic orders. It handles appeals regarding educational visits and student awards, and hears representations under the Registered Homes Act 1984.
