This decision was made to reduce a long-standing pattern of high annual collision rates at this location. The approved scheme includes the installation of traffic signals, pedestrian crossing facilities on Atherstone Road, Nuneaton Road, and Coleshill Road, and waiting restrictions for all arms of the junction.
