Overview and Scrutiny Committee

The Overview and Scrutiny Committee holds the Council's Cabinet to account, promoting transparency and democratic accountability for local people in West Suffolk. Led by elected councillors who are not part of the Cabinet, the committee sets its own agenda and can make recommendations for policy development and improvement. It examines the Council's operations and any matters affecting residents' lives, allowing them a greater say in council affairs. The committee's work is summarised in an annual report.
