The Licensing Sub-Committee (2) of Westminster Council was scheduled to consider licensing applications for a venue in the West End. The meeting was to take place in private to discuss matters relating to the prevention, investigation, or prosecution of crime.
Licensing Applications for Determination
The committee was scheduled to consider two items related to The Box, located at 11-12 Walker's Court, London, W1F 0BZ1.
- Premises Licence Review: The first item concerned a review of the premises licence for The Box.
- Application to Revoke Sexual Entertainment Venue Licence: The second item was an application to revoke the sexual entertainment venue licence for The Box.
The report pack provided to the committee members outlined the council's Statement of Licensing Policy, effective from October 2021, and guidance issued by the Secretary of State under Section 182 of the Licensing Act 2003. It also detailed the core hours
for various types of licensed premises, which are the times when customers are permitted to be on the premises. These core hours vary depending on the type of venue, such as casinos, cinemas, hotels, pubs, bars, restaurants, and sexual entertainment venues.
