The LCR Appointments and Disciplinary Committee met on Friday, 17th April 2026, to discuss senior staffing changes within the Combined Authority. The meeting focused on approving the organisational structure, dis-establishing a previous post, and approving shortlists for key executive roles.
Combined Authority Senior Staffing Changes
The committee considered a report detailing proposed changes to the Combined Authority's senior staffing structure. A key decision was the approval of the organisational structure as outlined in Appendix 1 of the report. Additionally, the committee approved the dis-establishment of the post of Executive Director for Corporate Development & Delivery, following the retirement of the previous post-holder.
The recruitment process for two significant roles was also discussed. The committee approved the recommended shortlist for the position of Executive Director for Investment & Delivery and agreed to proceed to the next stages of recruitment, as detailed in Appendix 2. Similarly, the recommended shortlist for the role of Director for Strategic Communications & Corporate Affairs was approved, with agreement to move forward to subsequent recruitment stages as outlined in Appendix 3. The committee also noted the recruitment approach detailed in section 5 of the report and delegated authority to the Chief Executive to progress the next stages of the recruitment process, with the aim of identifying suitable candidates for final interviews by the committee on Friday, 22 November 2024.
The meeting also involved the exclusion of the public during the consideration of these items, citing the Local Government Act 1972, specifically Paragraph 1 of Schedule 12A, which relates to information concerning an individual. This measure was taken to prevent the disclosure of information deemed not for publication and not in the public interest to disclose.
The minutes of the previous meeting held on 22 November 2024 were formally agreed.
