Open Council Network is an independent organisation. We report on Camden and are not the council. About us
The Pension Committee of Camden Council met on Thursday 16 July 2026 to review the performance of the Pension Fund's investments and its managers. The committee was scheduled to discuss updates on the London Collective Investment Vehicle (CIV), engagement activities undertaken by the fund, and the council's business plan.
London Collective Investment Vehicle (CIV) Progress Report
The committee was scheduled to receive an update on recent developments at the London CIV. This report was intended to provide information on the progress of asset pooling, which contributes to the government's agenda for greater efficiencies and cost savings within the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS). The report was expected to cover mandate transitions, current pooling levels, and the next steps in implementing the Investment Strategy Statement and Responsible Investment framework.
Engagement Report
This report was scheduled to update the committee on the engagement activities undertaken by the Pension Fund and the Local Authority Pension Fund Forum (LAPFF) on its behalf. The LAPFF is an association of local authority pension funds that aims to promote investment interests and influence corporate responsibility. The report was expected to highlight achievements during the quarter, including engagement with companies on themes such as climate change adaptation, water utilities and environmental risk, the protein transition, aviation decarbonisation, and employment practices. It was also to detail engagement on conflict-affected and high-risk areas and electric vehicle supply chains.
Performance Report
The committee was scheduled to review the performance of the Pension Fund's investment portfolio and that of its individual investment managers for the quarter ending 31 March 2026. The report was expected to provide a summary of financial market returns, the fund's valuation, and asset allocation, alongside detailed manager performance against their respective targets. This would allow for an assessment of how the fund's investments were performing in the context of market conditions and the council's investment beliefs.
Business Plan
This report was scheduled to outline items planned for future agendas of the Pension Committee. It was also to include a record of training and meetings attended by members and officers, and to highlight future training opportunities. This forward-looking plan aims to ensure members are kept informed about upcoming topics and have access to relevant development opportunities, particularly in light of new LGPS governance and training requirements.
