Themed Debate: The Future of Adult Social Care

Citizen expectations and Camden's contribution to a national conversation about the future of adult social care'. This discussion will be introduced by Councillor Kemi Atolagbe, Cabinet Member for Health, Wellbeing and Adult Social Care. The debate aims to explore what residents believe constitutes good care and support, and how Camden's findings can inform national discussions on the future of adult social care. The report pack highlights the 'Who Cares?' project, a six-month borough-wide conversation involving over 1,500 residents, which sought to increase public understanding of adult social care and gather views on what matters most to residents. Key findings from this project, including 'We Care: Citizens' Expectations', are scheduled to be presented. The report also outlines Camden's proposed next steps, focusing on a 'neighbourhoods approach' to make care and support more accessible and joined-up. The debate will also consider Camden's contribution to the national conversation initiated by Baroness Louise Casey's Independent Commission on adult social care.

Euston Area Plan Update

The Council is set to consider the Euston Area Plan (EAP) Update Proposed Submission Draft for submission to the Planning Inspectorate for public examination. This report, referenced as a 'Reference from Cabinet', follows a consultation period that ran from January to March 2026. The EAP Update, originally adopted in 2015, is being revised to reflect changes since its adoption, including the HS2 Act 2017, government delays and pauses in HS2 funding, and evolving local priorities such as Camden's Climate Action Plan. The report details the consultation responses received, summarises the main issues raised, and presents a schedule of proposed modifications to the EAP. The Council will be asked to approve the EAP Proposed Submission Draft, along with the modifications, for submission to the government for examination.
