Similarly, BeWell HKers, a Hong Kong community interest group, was scheduled to present its activities and engagement opportunities for residents.

A presentation was scheduled to cover the background and history of Beech Tree Place.
Highways and Transport Overview and Transport for London Programme for 2027/28
The committee was scheduled to receive an overview of highways and transport matters, including the Transport for London Programme for 2027/28.
Sutton Town Centre Placemaking Programme
Officers were scheduled to provide an update on proposed improvements to public spaces in the southern end of Sutton High Street. This would include an opportunity for feedback on enhancements planned between Caffè Nero and Pizza Express.
Minutes of the Previous Meeting
The committee was scheduled to approve the minutes of its previous meeting, which was scheduled to have been held on 16 July 2026. The minutes from that meeting indicate that Councillor Vanessa McCain declared an employment interest with People Arise Now. During that meeting, there were public questions regarding Sutton Housing Partnership, vacant homes in Regents Quarter, and services delivered by Cognus. The Director of Children's Social Care and Safeguarding indicated that follow-ups would occur for these queries. The previous meeting also featured a community showcase by People Arise Now, detailing its work with food parcels, community initiatives, and support for youth through its Youth Ignite programme. An update on the Sutton Stop and Search Monitoring Group was also provided. The Neighbourhood Fund was discussed, with a focus on the integration of previous public realm funding with the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL)1 and the simplification of application requirements. Wider funding opportunities, including grants from the London Cancer Hub, were also mentioned. The Chair, Councillor Sam Cumber, also made comments on the Sutton Local Plan Review.

The Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) is a charge that local authorities can levy in England and Wales on new, larger-scale developments in order to help fund the infrastructure needed to support that development. ↩
