This included electing Councillor Barry Lewis as Leader and Councillor Sam Martin as Deputy Leader. The Council also agreed to amend the Members' Allowances Scheme to provide the full Special Responsibility Allowance to the leader of each recognised opposition group.

Michael Turner was appointed as an Independent Person for a two-year term until January 2028, and Gary Rogers' appointment was extended for one year until January 2027.
