Health and Wellbeing Board - Tuesday, 25th June, 2024 10.30 am

The Health and Wellbeing Board noted a series of reports on the workforce available to adult social care in Greenwich, on suicide prevention, on the work of Healthwatch Greenwich, on the Better Care Fund, and on the progress of the Healthier Greenwich Partnership’s Local Care Plan. They also agreed some changes to their membership and received feedback on two informal visits.
Adult Social Care Workforce
The Board discussed a report on the Adult Social Care Workforce. The most significant issue raised was the impact on the Council's ability to fill vacancies of the Government’s new regulations on international recruitment. No decisions were made.
Healthier Greenwich Partnership’s Local Care Plan
The Board discussed progress on the Healthier Greenwich Partnership’s Local Care Plan.
The ICS Director of Operations for Greenwich explained that
the ten Ambitions were overarching goals and some of the High Impact Activities was not the actual outcome, rather they were an activity on the way to that outcome
The Board noted the report.
Greenwich Suicide Prevention Strategy 2023-2028
The Board noted the Greenwich Suicide Prevention Strategy 2023-2028 which had been agreed at a previous meeting.
Healthwatch Greenwich
The Board received the Annual Report of Healthwatch Greenwich. Healthwatch Greenwich is a company set up to allow people who use health and social care services to have their say in how those services are provided. The Board noted the report.
Better Care Fund
The Board discussed the [Better Care Fund](https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/better-care-fund-allocations-2023-to-2025/better-care-fund-2023-to-2025-allocations#:~:text=The%20Better%20Care%20Fund%20(BCF,services%20are%20joined%20up.) Plans for 2024-25. The Better Care Fund is a fund provided by central government to allow local authorities to provide better integrated health and social care. No decisions were made.
Feedback from Informal Board Visits
The Board received feedback from two informal visits.
Glyndon Community Centre
The first was to the Glyndon Community Centre in Plumstead on 27 March 2024.
Other Informal Visits
The Board also discussed holding further informal meetings in future.
Membership
The Board agreed some changes to its membership.
The Board were provided with an organogram showing the SEL ICB Governance Arrangements and details of the HWBB Current Composition. They were asked to agree the Proposed Composition for 2024-25.
The changes were designed to meet the requirements of The Health and Social Care Act 2012 which requires that
at least one member of the board is appointed by local Healthwatch organisations
The Board agreed the proposed changes to its membership.
