The Barnet Council Strategic Planning Committee met on 6 May 2025, and voted to refuse planning permission for Hasmonean High School, and agreed the minutes of the previous meeting.

Hasmonean High School Planning Application

The committee voted to refuse planning permission for an application relating to Hasmonean High School (2-4 Page Street NW7 2EU - 16/6662/FUL). The application was referred to the Mayor of London.

During the discussion, Zoe Samuelson spoke in objection to the application, while Emily Benedek and Andrew Beard, the agent for the applicant, spoke in support.

Councillor Claire Farrier declared that she was on the committee that heard the item previously in 2017, but would approach the item with an open mind. Councillor Richard Cornelius declared an interest as he was a Councillor when the item previously came to committee, and although he would not be voting, he would approach his questioning with an open mind. Councillors Cornelius and Gill Sargeant entered the room during the item and therefore did not vote on the application.

The committee resolved that the minutes of the meeting held on 23 April 2025 were a correct record. ¹
