The Licensing Sub-Committee (1) met on Thursday 9 May 2024 to consider three new premises licence applications. Decisions were made on all three applications, with licences granted subject to various conditions.
Basement and Ground Floor, 49 Bedford Street, WC2E 9HA
The committee granted a new premises licence for the basement and ground floor at 49 Bedford Street, WC2E 9HA. The licence permits Late Night Refreshment from 23:00 to 23:30 Monday to Thursday, and 23:00 to 00:00 Friday and Saturday. The premises will be open to the public from 09:00 to 23:30 Monday to Thursday, and 09:00 to 00:00 Friday and Saturday. The premises will operate solely as a restaurant, with no takeaway service for immediate consumption off the premises. Conditions were imposed regarding noise, waste management, and the display of a manager's contact number. Delivery drivers will be required to wait inside the premises after 23:00 and use only pedal bikes, electric bikes, or other electric vehicles for deliveries after this time.
16 Henrietta Street, WC2E 8QH
A new premises licence was granted for 16 Henrietta Street, WC2E 8QH. This licence effectively reinstates the terms of a previously lapsed licence for the premises, which previously operated as the restaurant Frenchie. The licence permits Late Night Refreshment and Recorded Music from 23:00 to 00:30 Monday to Saturday, and 23:00 to 00:00 on Sundays. Alcohol can be sold from 10:00 to 00:00 Monday to Saturday, and 12:00 to 23:30 on Sundays. The premises will be open to the public from 10:00 to 00:30 Monday to Saturday, and 12:00 to 00:00 on Sundays. The premises must operate as a restaurant, with alcohol sales ancillary to substantial table meals. Conditions were imposed regarding noise, waste, and CCTV.
Fireaway Pizza, Basement and Ground Floor, 79 Wilton Road, SW1V 1DL
The committee granted a new premises licence for Fireaway Pizza at 79 Wilton Road, SW1V 1DL. The licence allows for Late Night Refreshment from 23:00 to 23:30 Monday to Thursday, and 23:00 to 00:00 Friday to Sunday. The premises will be required to install and maintain a comprehensive CCTV system, and an incident log must be kept. Conditions were also imposed regarding noise, waste management, and the removal of outside tables and chairs by 23:00.
