East Hampshire District Council's Cabinet is scheduled to meet on Friday 26 September 2025 to discuss the English Devolution White Paper, proposals for Local Government Reorganisation, and financial updates related to the Local Government Review. The Overview and Scrutiny Committee will also be considering item 7 on the agenda.

Local Government Reorganisation

The Cabinet is scheduled to consider a report and recommendations regarding the English Devolution White Paper and Local Government Reorganisation (LGR). This includes a proposal to the government, and budgetary implications relating to LGR will be discussed as part of a finance update.

The document titled EHDC Cabinet Decision - LGR Final Proposal V2.2 is scheduled to be discussed. The report pack also includes the Hants LGR Strategic Business Case Final and a document containing all appendices.

Local Government Review Finance Update

The Cabinet is scheduled to discuss the financial implications of the Local Government Review (LGR). This discussion will be based on the recommendations provided in the EHDC LGR Finance 202526 Final Draft. A summary of savings for 2025/26 is also included in the report pack, in the document titled Summary of SEHF2 savings for 202526.

Other Items

The agenda includes standard items such as apologies for absence, declarations of interest, and approval of the minutes from the previous meeting held on Thursday 11 September 2025.
