The Lancashire SACRE - Agreed Syllabus Conference met on Monday 10 November 2025 to discuss draft primary curricular materials and the Key Stage 3 Strategy for Religious Education. The meeting also reviewed the next steps for the completion, consultation, and launch of the new syllabus.
Review of Draft Primary Materials
Alison Lloyd, School Adviser for the Education Improvement Service, provided an overview of the progress made on the draft primary curricular materials for Religious Education. Conference members discussed and offered comments on the draft information presented.
Key Stage 3 Strategy
Alison Lloyd, alongside Joanne Harris, RE Consultant, presented an update on the progress of the Key Stage 3 Strategy for Religious Education. Draft information was shared with the conference members, who then engaged in discussions and provided feedback.
Next Steps for Syllabus Development
Alison Lloyd outlined the planned process for the completion, consultation, and eventual launch of the new Religious Education syllabus. This process is set to culminate in the consideration and approval of the new syllabus by the county council's Cabinet in September 2026. The members of the conference expressed their gratitude for the significant work undertaken by Alison Lloyd and Joanne Harris.
