The Planning Committee of Croydon Council met on Thursday 18 December 2025 to consider two significant planning applications for redevelopment. The committee was also scheduled to review other planning matters, including weekly planning decisions.
Planning Applications for Decision
Woburn Court and Bedford Court, Wellesley Road, Croydon, CR0 2AF
The committee was scheduled to consider a major redevelopment proposal at Woburn Court and Bedford Court. The application sought permission for the demolition of existing buildings and the phased construction of four new buildings, ranging in height from 4 to 32 storeys. The development would provide 445 new homes, comprising market rent, London Affordable Rent, and shared ownership units. Additionally, 1,584 sqm of flexible commercial and community space was proposed for lower levels. The plans also included communal spaces, cycle and blue badge parking, refuse storage, a new landscaped square, and public realm improvements. The application was accompanied by an Environmental Statement. The Director of Planning & Strategic Transport's recommendation was to grant permission, subject to a legal agreement and various conditions.
25 Woodfield Hill, Coulsdon, CR5 3ED
The committee was also scheduled to consider an application for the demolition of an existing dwelling and garage at 25 Woodfield Hill, Coulsdon. The proposal involved the erection of five new two-storey homes: two semi-detached and three detached dwellinghouses. Associated access, vehicle parking, cycle parking, refuse storage, and soft landscaping were also part of the application. The Ward Councillor and Coulsdon West Residents' Association had raised objections, leading to the referral of the application to the committee. The Director of Planning & Strategic Transport's recommendation was to grant permission, subject to a Section 106 agreement and conditions.
