The Adult Social Care, Health and Communities Overview and Scrutiny Committee of West Northamptonshire Council was scheduled to discuss key priorities and challenges in adult social care delivery, as well as workforce planning within the adult social care function. Priorities and Challenges in Adult Social Care
The committee was scheduled to receive a presentation from The Executive Director – People Services and the Cabinet Member for Adult Social Care, Public Health, and Regulatory Services. This presentation was intended to outline the key issues facing the council in relation to adult social care and public health, and to detail the council's priorities and challenges for the delivery of adult social care.
Adult Social Care Workforce Planning
A presentation was scheduled to provide further information on workforce planning within the council's Adult Social Care function. This was to include details on recruitment activities for skilled roles within care services, following a request for this information at the committee's previous meeting on 24 November 2025.
Review of Committee Work Programme
The committee was scheduled to review and note its Work Programme for the remainder of the 2025-26 municipal year. The report pack indicates that this programme includes planned discussions on topics such as the outcomes of Care Quality Commission inspections, further details on adult social care workforce planning, and cabinet member priorities and challenges for adult social care. The work programme also highlights potential future scrutiny items, including Local Area Partnerships, lower-level service provision, and the Council's Anti-Poverty Strategy.
