Open Council Network is an independent organisation. We report on Northumberland and are not the council. About us
The Ashington & Blyth Community Partnership meeting scheduled for 11 February 2026 was set to include discussions on community initiatives, local development, and the role of Citizens Advice. The agenda also outlined procedures for public questions and the consideration of petitions.
Citizens Advice and Community Support
A key item on the agenda was a presentation from a representative of Citizens Advice. This presentation was scheduled to cover the work of Citizens Advice, the Thriving Together
initiative, and the new MARK system. The Thriving Together
programme aims to support community well-being and resilience, while the MARK system is likely a new operational or data management tool for Citizens Advice.
Public Engagement and Petitions
The meeting was scheduled to include a session for public question time, where members of the public could submit written questions in advance on matters for which the Council has responsibility. The agenda also detailed procedures for receiving new petitions, considering reports on previously received petitions, and receiving updates on ongoing petition matters.
Community Marketplace and Informal Discussion
An informal Community Market Place
was planned to facilitate discussions between partnership members and various local businesses. This would provide an opportunity for networking and exploring potential collaborations within the community.
Procedural Matters
As with all council meetings, the agenda included standard procedural items. This involved the consideration of apologies for absence, the agreement of the minutes from the previous meeting, and a reminder about the disclosure of members' interests in accordance with the Council's Code of Conduct. The agenda also noted the possibility of urgent business being considered if deemed necessary by the Chair due to special circumstances.
