The Health Select Committee of Wiltshire Council met on Tuesday 2 June 2026 to discuss several key health-related issues. Wiltshire Council Cabinet approved the acceptance of the Connect to Work Grant from the Department for Work and Pensions on 29/04/2026. The Cabinet approved a £2.2m grant award to The Shaw Trust Limited for specialist IPS provision and delegated subsequent specialist delivery approvals to directors in consultation with the Lead Member.

The Cabinet Member for Children’s Services, SEND, Education and Skills decided on 01/06/2026 to approve awarding £100,000 of grant development funding to Home Start North Wiltshire. This funding is to deliver Home Learning Environment interventions for the year 2026/2027.
Jen Salter, Corporate Director – Children and Education, decided on 23/04/2026 to enter into two Deeds of Variation for the Silverwood School Expansion Programme. This includes amending the Defects Date for the Phase 3 New Classroom Block project with Willmott Dixon Construction and amending the contract sum and programme for Phase 4 alterations with Beard Construction. The contract sum for Phase 4 increased to £4,023,586.08 with a revised completion date of 21/10/2026.

He also decided to consent to an application to stop up part of the highway adjacent to 'Tower View', 8B High Street, Steeple Ashton, on the same grounds. Kathryn Davis, Director (Education and Skills), decided to approve the awarding of grants for the Skills Bootcamps Programme using £2,111,000.00 of Section 31 Grant funding allocated for the financial year 25/26.
