The People Committee of Kingston upon Thames Council decided to approve the Adult Social Care Priorities for 2026 to 2029 on 17 September 2026. The decision document outlines a framework for monitoring and reporting on the delivery of these priorities.

The People Committee approved recommendations regarding the SEND Futures Plan on 17 September 2026. Progress in implementing the SEND Futures Plan was noted, and the Local Area SEND Reform Plan will be incorporated into a new SEND Futures Plan once approved by the Department for Education.

The People Committee of Kingston upon Thames Council decided on 17/09/2026 to note the high participation rate in education, employment, and training for young people. The committee also approved the assessment that the current education and training offer meets statutory responsibilities.

The People Committee decided to note the contents of a motion and officer comments. The Portfolio Holder for Adult Social Care, Public Health and Equalities will write to central government and relevant national bodies.

The People Committee endorsed the progress of the Children and Young People's Plan and its associated action plan on 17 September 2026. The committee also noted the recommendation from an options appraisal regarding an alternative approach to Unicef Child Friendly Cities. Additionally, they endorsed working with children and young people to identify the best approach for ensuring their voices are heard and included in council plans.
