Licensing Committee - Tuesday, 10th June, 2025 6.20 pm
The Islington Council Licensing Committee met on 10 June 2025 to discuss changes to the membership of the Licensing Sub-Committees. Councillor Heather Staff, Chair of Licensing Committee and Migrants Champion, was scheduled to chair the meeting.
Licensing Sub Committee D - Tuesday, 10th June, 2025 6.30 pm
The Islington Council Licensing Sub Committee D met to discuss new premises licences for Sud Italia and West 25. A decision on Sud Italia was deferred, while the application for West 25 was granted with amended conditions.
Planning Committee - Monday, 2nd June, 2025 7.30 pm
The Islington Council Planning Committee met to discuss and approve a planning application for the Bemerton Estate South, involving the demolition of garages and construction of new dwellings and community space. The committee approved the application with amendments to ensure flexibility in the provision of affordable housing and to include resident engagement in the design of play spaces and landscaping.

At the Annual Council meeting, Councillor Jason Jackson was elected as Mayor of Islington, becoming the first black man to hold the post. Councillor Rosalyn Ngongoro was appointed as Deputy Mayor, and councillors were assigned to various committees and outside organisations.
