Overview and Scrutiny Committee - Wednesday 26th March, 2025 7.00 pm
The Overview and Scrutiny Committee met to discuss a range of topics, including fire safety in timber-framed homes, support for refugees and asylum seekers, and budget management. The committee agreed to review communication to residents regarding fire safety, and to look at ways to improve budget scrutiny. They also agreed the scope for the food security task and finish group.
Welsh Harp Joint Consultative Committee - Thursday 20th March, 2025 6.00 pm
The committee received updates from Barnet Council and Brent Council on the Welsh Harp and noted both reports. Councillor Chakraborty thanked the committee for their work over the past year and Councillor Ambe thanked the Chair for their hard work.
Budget Council, Council - Tuesday 4th March, 2025 7.00 pm
The Council agreed to adopt the new Local Plan, approved the 2025/26 budget and the associated 4.98% rise in Council Tax, and appointed Cath Shaw as the new Chief Executive.
Employment Sub-Committee - Wednesday 26th February, 2025 1.00 pm
The Employment Sub-Committee met and decided to recommend to Full Council that Cath Shaw be appointed as Chief Executive (Head of Paid Service) subject to no material and well-founded objection from a Member of the Executive. The Sub-Committee also confirmed the deletion of the post of Deputy Chief Executive.
West Area Committee - Monday 24th February, 2025 7.00 pm
The committee awarded funding to several projects in the area, including community food growing, a green shield
around All Saints School, playground improvements in Golders Hill Park, repairs to the Emmanuel Centre, and a sports programme in Grahame Park. The committee also discussed several issues raised by members of the public, including road safety issues, building works noise and dust, and a request for improved lighting under a railway bridge to deter antisocial behaviour.
