The Health Scrutiny Committee approved the Northamptonshire Suicide Prevention Strategy 2026-2031 and its accompanying action plan on 02/07/2026. The committee noted the comprehensive process undertaken to develop the strategy, including stakeholder engagement and consultation activities.

The Health Scrutiny Committee approved the minutes of the meeting held on 17th March 2026. The committee noted progress and endorsed the ongoing Orchard Project for dementia research and best practice. They also noted local substance misuse needs and actions to improve outcomes, including local treatment and recovery services.

The Health Scrutiny Committee decided to note the Scrutiny Work Programme for 2026/27 on 02/07/2026. The programme includes scrutiny of the Suicide Prevention Strategy, Adult Social Care CQC Assessment Outcome and Improvement Plan, and various annual reports from NHS trusts and the Safeguarding Adults Board.

The Health Scrutiny Committee approved recommendations regarding the Care Quality Commission assessment outcome and improvement plan on 02/07/2026. The committee noted the "Requires Improvement" rating, the associated improvement plan, and supported the development of an Adult Social Care Improvement Board. The committee also noted the intention for future quarterly updates on Adult Social Care performance metrics.

The Council of North Northamptonshire Council resolved that Councillor Andy Sims be elected as Vice-Chair of North Northamptonshire Council for the Municipal Year 2026/2027. This decision was made on 21/05/2026.
