The Children, Families and Skills Scrutiny Committee of Lancashire Council approved the work programme for 2026-27 on 16 September 2026. The committee will review topics including the Corporate Parenting Strategy and the Participation and Co-production Strategy.

The Children, Families and Skills Scrutiny Committee considered the Children and Young People's Participation and Co-production Strategy 2026-2029. They were asked to provide constructive feedback on the strategy before its consideration by Cabinet on 3 December 2026.

The Children, Families and Skills Scrutiny Committee approved recommendations on 16 September 2026. The committee noted Cabinet Member responses to recommendations made at meetings on 3 December 2025, 14 January 2026, 25 February 2026, and 14 May 2026.

The Children, Families and Skills Scrutiny Committee of Lancashire Council approved recommendations on 16 September 2026. The committee noted the appointment of County Councillor Joanne Ash as Chair and County Councillor Peter Buckley as Deputy Chair, the committee's membership, its Terms of Reference, and the Cabinet Scrutiny Protocol.

The Children, Families and Skills Scrutiny Committee of Lancashire Council considered the Corporate Parenting Strategy 2026-2030 on 16 September 2026. The committee was asked to offer constructive challenge and comment on the proposed strategy before it was taken forward to Cabinet. The strategy sets out six priorities: Participation, Engagement and Co-production; Identity; Home; Preparation for Adulthood; Health, Wellbeing and Safety; and Education, Employment and Training.
