Works Council - Tuesday, 1st October, 2024 7.00 pm
This meeting of the Works Council was scheduled to elect a new Chair and Vice Chair for the 2024/25 municipal year, and then to hear updates from the Employer and Union sides of the committee.
Mayor and Cabinet - Wednesday, 18th September, 2024 6.00 pm
The meeting considered the recommendations of two task & finish group reports and made several decisions on financial and procurement matters. Decisions made include approving the Treasury Management Outturn report for 2023/24, adopting the Asset Management Strategy 2024-2034, approving the grant of leases for seven community assets, approving the development of three new children’s homes, and approving the submission of a planning application for the Achilles Street Estate regeneration.
Governance Committee - Wednesday, 11th September, 2024 7.00 pm
The Governance Committee met to confirm the minutes of the final meeting of the Constitution Working Party, which had taken place on 14 March 2023. The Committee confirmed the minutes without further discussion.
Sustainable Development Select Committee - Tuesday, 10th September, 2024 7.00 pm
The committee discussed progress with the Air Quality Action Plan 2022-2027, the Lewisham Town Centre Improvements Programme and the committee's future work programme. The committee made several recommendations relating to these issues, including that officers discuss with private businesses raising awareness of car idling, that the accessibility of air quality data on the council website should be improved, that discussions be held with Transport for London (TfL) to consider if bus movements can be altered to support sustainable transport in the town centre, and that the committee receive further information about a licensing review.
Safer Stronger Communities Select Committee - Thursday, 5th September, 2024 7.00 pm
This meeting was about the Council's responsibilities towards its diverse community, and how it plans to meet them in the future. The meeting included the presentation of a draft plan to transition the management of community assets to organisations in the Voluntary and Community Sector, a report on the Council's performance against its current Single Equality Framework, and discussion of the draft Single Equality Framework for 2024-2028.

...to ensure continuity of care for adults with learning disabilities, the Mayor and Cabinet agreed to extend 22 supported living contracts expiring on 31/12/2025 for 9 months at a cost of £4,581,227.06 and 11 supported living contracts expiring at various dates in 2026 until 31/03/2027 at a cost of £4,425,54.34, allowing time for the new Open Framework to be established and for the procurement of these contracts to be completed.
