The Cabinet of Warwickshire Council approved the Children's and Young People Travel Assistance Policy on 16/07/2026. This policy replaces the previous Home to School/College Transport Policy for new applications from 1 September 2026. The decision includes adopting new wording for eligibility assessment, automatic Independent Travel Training assessment for post-16 pupils, and the use of drop-off and pick-up points.

The Portfolio Holder for Transport and Planning approved the draft response and covering letter for the South Warwickshire Local Plan Regulation 19 Consultation on 04/09/2026. This response outlines Warwickshire County Council's comments and concerns regarding the plan.

The Cabinet of Warwickshire Council approved additions to the Education Capital Programme 2026/2027 on 16/07/2026. This includes £1.754 million for Southam Primary School, £0.364 million for Southam College, £0.058 million for Bishops Itchington Primary School, and £0.034 million for Briar Hill Infant School. These additions are funded by developer contributions and High Needs Capital Allocation.

The Cabinet decided to approve the establishment of specialist resourced provision at Park Hill Junior School, St Paul's CofE Primary School, and Briar Hill Infant School, and to support its establishment at Nicholas Chamberlaine School. The decision was made on 09/05/2024. The Cabinet approved additions to the capital programme for Park Hill Junior School (£0.113 million), St Paul's CofE Primary School (£0.013 million), and Nicholas Chamberlaine School (£0.090 million), and authorised the Executive Director for Children and Young People to invite tenders and enter into contracts.

The Portfolio Holder for Customer and Localities approved commencing public consultation on ceasing to externally commission an equalities service. The Executive Director for Resources was authorised to finalise consultation details and undertake the exercise. This consultation will inform a final Cabinet decision on the future of the service.

The Cabinet of Warwickshire County Council decided to endorse the final version of the Council Plan for 2026-30 on 11 May 2026. This plan sets the direction and focus for all council-led strategy and activity. The decision was made for onward consideration by the full Council.

The Cabinet of Warwickshire Council decided on 11 May 2026 to approve the Better Care Fund Plan for 2026/27. This plan includes the proposed pooled contribution of £18.669m by the Council and confirms that mandatory funding contributions and national conditions are met. The decision also authorises the Executive Director for Social Care and Health to enter into a partnership agreement with Coventry and Warwickshire Integrated Care Board for the delivery of the plan.
