The Council of North Northamptonshire Council rejected three motions on 16 July 2026. The first motion requested an exception to flag flying policy to raise the Ukrainian flag on Ukraine Independence Day. The second motion called for the development of a High Street Revival Policy, establishment of a High Street Renewal Taskforce, and creation of a public register of long-term empty commercial properties. The third motion urged engagement with independent highways experts and neighbouring authorities regarding the impact of proposed developments on infrastructure.

The Council of North Northamptonshire approved the minutes of the Special Meeting of Council and the Annual Meeting of Council held on 21st May 2026 on 16th July 2026. The Council also elected Councillor Maurice Eglin as Chair and Councillor Andy Sims as Vice-Chair for the Municipal Year 2026/27. Additionally, six individuals were enrolled as Honorary Aldermen or Alderwomen of North Northamptonshire.
