At the annual meeting of Surrey County Council, Councillor Tim Hall was elected as the new Chair, and Councillor Bernie Muir was elected as Vice-Chair. Councillor Tim Oliver OBE was re-elected as Leader of the Council for a four-year term. The council also discussed local government reorganisation, councillor absences, committee appointments, and various reports, including the officer code of conduct and the code of corporate governance.

Surrey Police and Crime Panel Complaints Sub-Committee - Monday, 19 May 2025 11.00 am

The Surrey Police and Crime Panel Complaints Sub-Committee met to discuss two complaints, one against the Police and Crime Commissioner for Surrey, and another referred to as Complaint 0055. The agenda also included the appointment of a chair and a recommendation to exclude the public from the meeting during discussion of the complaints.

Extraordinary Meeting, Council - Wednesday, 7 May 2025 10.00 am

At an extraordinary meeting, Surrey County Council voted to note a report on devolution and local government reorganisation (LGR), paving the way for the cabinet to decide whether to submit a final plan to the government. The final plan recommends a two unitary council model divided into east and west geographies. This model aims to unlock further devolution, streamline operations, enhance service delivery and unlock financial efficiencies.

Surrey Police and Crime Panel - Thursday, 24 April 2025 11.30 am

The Surrey Police and Crime Panel met to discuss the Surrey Police Group's financial performance, police complaints, misconduct, vetting, workforce planning, and updates on antisocial behaviour and shoplifting. The panel reviewed the minutes of the previous meeting and noted complaints received since the last meeting.

Planning and Regulatory Committee - Wednesday, 26 March 2025 10.30 am

The Planning and Regulatory Committee met on Wednesday 26 March 2025, and approved an application for the importation and re-injection of non-site derived produced water into Brockham Wellsite to support hydrocarbon production, subject to a legal agreement regarding HGV access. The committee also discussed two applications relating to Weydon Academy, but these were ultimately refused.
