The Cabinet of Gloucestershire County Council decided on 10 June 2026 to approve responses for representations to the Secretary of State regarding the Gloucestershire Structural Change Order. The Cabinet agreed to state a preference for a 'new council' model if a single unitary authority is implemented. Authority was delegated to the Chief Executive to finalise and submit these representations.

The Cabinet of Gloucestershire Council decided on 20/05/2026 to approve the allocation of substance use grant funding for 2026-2029. This approval included modifying the contract with Via Care Ltd for additional services, allocating £162,440 to the Youth Support Service for an additional staff member, and allocating £495,751 to the Employment and Skills Hub for employment support for individuals with substance use disorders.

The Cabinet of Gloucestershire Council decided to approve recommendations for the Tailored Learning and Adult Skills Programme for 2026/2027 on 20/05/2026. The decision allows the Executive Director of Economy, Environment and Infrastructure, in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Education and Skills, to enter into a funding agreement with the Department for Education, conduct a light-touch competitive procurement for adult learning services, and award resulting contracts. These actions include securing £2,734,701 in funding, procuring services such as First Steps and Employability provision, and awarding contracts with initial periods of up to 12 months, with options for extension.

Gloucestershire Council's Cabinet decided to approve and publish the Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service Community Risk Management Plan 2026-2030 on 22 April 2026. The plan sets out how the service will allocate resources and implement strategies to mitigate identified risks.

The Cabinet of Gloucestershire Council decided to approve the closure of Great Western Court. They also declared the site surplus to requirements and will reinvest staffing budgets and resources into home-based reablement and prevention services. Authority was delegated to the Assistant Director – Asset Management and Property Services to dispose of the site.
