The Housing Scrutiny Commission met to discuss district heating, the Good Landlord Plan, and the commission's work programme for the coming year. The commission reviewed the preparedness of the council's district heating systems for winter, and discussed ways to address overly warm homes. Members also received an update on the Good Landlord Plan, which aims to improve housing services in the borough, and agreed to the commission's work programme for 2025-26.

Ordinary meeting, Council Assembly - Wednesday 12 November 2025 7.00 pm

Southwark Council Assembly met to discuss resident's rights, ethical investments, and local funding, among other items. The council approved changes to its committee structure and investment strategy, and reappointed an independent advisor. Motions were passed regarding fairer funding, ethical investments, improvements to Peckham Rye Station, and Thames Water.

The Planning Committee (Major Applications) B met on 5 November 2025, and approved the release of £250,000 for cycling infrastructure improvements on Mandela Way, and approved the demolition of Coburg House and erection of a new building comprising commercial floorspace and purpose built student accommodation. Councillor Richard Livingstone, Chair of the Planning Committee (Major Applications) B, informed the meeting that an addendum report and members' pack had been circulated.

Housing Scrutiny Commission - Tuesday 14 October 2025 7.00 pm

The Housing Scrutiny Commission met on 14 October 2025 to discuss a range of housing-related topics, including an update on the Good Landlord Plan, the revised Resident Engagement Strategy, and fire safety investment. Also on the agenda were reports relating to new build homes on Tenda Road and a recommendation to demolish Marie Curie House. The meeting was also scheduled to include a review of the commission's work programme for the 2025-2026 municipal year and a discussion of cabinet responses to the scrutiny review of tenant structures.
