Councillor Andy Simms was elected as the new Chair of North Northamptonshire Council at a meeting held on Thursday 16 July 2026. The council also approved a revised Constitution and rejected three motions on notice.

Licensing Sub-Committee - Wednesday 1st July, 2026 10.00 am

The Licensing Sub-Committee of North Northamptonshire Council met on Wednesday 1 July 2026 to consider several applications for new premises licences. The committee granted a licence for The Lamb Inn in Little Harrowden with an amendment to the requested hours for Christmas Eve. A licence was granted for Higham Local in Higham Ferrers, with reduced operating hours. The application for Asda Express in Rushden was withdrawn as all issues had been resolved prior to the meeting.

Employment Committee - Thursday, 18 June 2026 - 6.00 pm

The Employment Committee of North Northamptonshire Council met on Thursday 18 June 2026 and established a sub-committee to oversee the recruitment of a new Executive Director of Children's Services. This sub-committee will be responsible for shortlisting, interviewing, and appointing the most suitable candidate for the statutory role.

Council - Thursday, 21 May 2026 - 6.30 pm

The Annual Council meeting of North Northamptonshire Council, held on May 21, 2026, saw the election of Councillor Maurice Eglin as Chair and Councillor Andy Sims as Vice-Chair for the 2026/27 municipal year. The meeting also confirmed political group leadership arrangements and made numerous appointments to council committees and outside bodies.
