Annual Meeting, Council - Thursday, 22nd May, 2025 7.30 pm
The Waltham Forest Council meeting scheduled for 22 May 2025 included the election of a new Mayor, the appointment of councillors to various committees and outside bodies, and a review of the council's scheme of delegation. Councillors were also scheduled to discuss the programme of meetings for the upcoming year.
Council - Thursday, 24th April, 2025 7.30 pm
At a meeting of the Waltham Forest Council, councillors approved an updated Local Development Scheme and declared a Nature Emergency in the borough. The council also paid tribute to former Councillor Mohammad Asghar, father of Councillor Naheed Asghar, Portfolio Lead Member - Inclusive Economy, who had recently passed away.
Communities and Public Protection Scrutiny Committee - Wednesday, 26th March, 2025 7.00 pm
The Communities and Public Protection Scrutiny Committee met to discuss community safety, neighbourhood policing, and review the committee's activities. The meeting included a review of corporate performance regarding community safety, an update on neighbourhood policing in Waltham Forest, and a review of the committee's work, forward plan, and action tracker. The meeting was scheduled to be the final one for the municipal year.
