Planning and Development Control Committee - Wednesday, 23 July 2025 5:30 pm

The Planning and Development Control Committee met to discuss four planning applications, including proposals for residential care homes and a change of use for student accommodation. Councillors approved plans for an extension to a house on Mendip Avenue, but refused permission for a change of use to a children's care home on Ashton Green Road. Two applications for children's care homes on Helena Crescent and York Street were approved, subject to conditions.

Public Health and Health Integration Scrutiny Commission - Tuesday, 8 July 2025 5:30 pm

The Public Health and Health Integration Scrutiny Commission met to discuss public health and NHS integration in Leicester, with a focus on NHS transformation, oral health, same-day access to services, and community engagement. Councillors noted the NHS is required to make significant savings, and heard that oral health is poor in the city. They also discussed plans to improve access to services and engage with the community.

The Planning and Development Control Committee met to discuss two planning applications. Permission was refused for a change of use from a residential dwelling to a children's care home at 6 Green View, and for the demolition of a single-storey rear extension and change of use of a dwelling to a shop at 4-10 Macdonald Road.
