Council - Wednesday, 15 April 2026 - 7.30 pm

The Council meeting on 15 April 2026 saw the approval of the Bexley Community Safety Partnership Strategy 2026-2030 and the adoption of a revised Council Constitution. A significant portion of the meeting was dedicated to a motion regretting the impact of the Labour government on Bexley residents, which was carried by a majority vote. The meeting also included the appointment of a new Deputy Director for Legal and Democratic Services, who will also serve as the Monitoring Officer. Finally, the Council recorded its sincere appreciation for the service of 14 councillors who were not seeking re-election.

Council - Wednesday, 4th March, 2026 7.30 pm

The Council of Bexley Council met on Wednesday, 4 March 2026, to approve the Financial Plans for 2026/27. The meeting saw the approval of a £271.9 million General Fund Budget, which includes a 4.99% increase in Council Tax, comprising a 2.99% general increase and a 2% rise for Adult Social Care. An amendment proposed by the Labour group, which sought to introduce a new housing strategy and explore a housing revenue account, was defeated.

Council - Wednesday, 5th November, 2025 7.30 pm

The Council meeting saw the appointment of Councillor David Leaf as the new Leader of the Council until the annual meeting in May 2026. A significant portion of the meeting was dedicated to reflecting on Baroness O'Neill of Bexley OBE's 17-year tenure as Leader and the achievements of the council under her leadership, alongside discussions on various council services and future plans.

A key decision made was the approval of a motion calling on the Mayor of London to increase police presence in Bexley.
