Cardiff Council's Cabinet met on Thursday, 8 January 2026, to discuss the upcoming budget and a significant UK Government regeneration initiative. The meeting confirmed the council's ability to balance its 2026-27 budget without frontline service cuts, thanks to improved funding from the Welsh Government and identified internal efficiencies. The Cabinet also agreed to proceed with a bid for the Pride in Place programme, which aims to invest £20 million over ten years into one of Cardiff's most deprived areas.

The Cabinet will also consider the council tax base for 2026/2027, the corporate risk register, a mid-year assessment of performance, a draft regeneration strategy, and proposed changes to the Cardiff Social Housing Allocation Scheme.

Appointment Committee - OM1 Legal Services (Property, Planning and Procurement ) and Deputy Monitoring Officer - Wednesday, 17th December, 2025 11.15 am

The Appointment Committee is scheduled to meet to interview candidates for the position of Operational Manager Legal Services (Property, Planning and Procurement) and Deputy Monitoring Officer, and potentially conclude the appointment process. The meeting will also address apologies for absence, declarations of interest, and approval of the minutes from a previous meeting. Some information related to the appointment is expected to be discussed in a session excluded from the public.

Glamorgan Archives Joint Committee - Friday, 12th December, 2025 2.00 pm

The Glamorgan Archives Joint Committee were scheduled to meet on 12 December 2025 to discuss the Glamorgan Archivist's report, the proposed strategic plan, budget proposals, and proposed fees and charges. The committee was also scheduled to review the month 7 monitoring report and the medium term financial plan.
