The Council is scheduled to consider proposed amendments to the Members' Allowance Scheme for 2026-27, which include adjustments to the allocation of Special Responsibility Allowances following recent changes to the council's committee structure. Councillor Karen Scarborough was elected as the new Lord Mayor, and Councillor Paul Swaddle was elected as the new Leader of the Council. The Council also approved the establishment of its standing committees, their terms of reference, and the proportional allocation of seats to political groups.
