Housing Compensation Policy

South Holland Cabinet adopted the Housing Compensation Policy on 29 September 2026. The Cabinet approved recommendations to delegate minor operational amendments and legislative changes to the Service Director - Housing, and recommended to Council that the Service Director – Housing be authorised to approve compensation payments up to £2,000 in connection with complaints regarding the Council’s function as a social landlord.

The Cabinet of South Holland Council agreed on 30 June 2026 to participate in the Local Authority Housing Fund Round 4 programme. This decision aims to acquire three properties for temporary and resettlement homes within the district. The Cabinet delegated authority to the Service Director of Strategic Growth & Development and the Portfolio Holder to finalise the Memorandum of Understanding with MHCLG.
