Standards Committee

The Standards Committee, comprising Devon County Councillors and co-opted members, ensures that all councillors and officers adhere to agreed Codes of Conduct. It advises the Council on adopting, monitoring, and updating a Members' Code of Conduct, and implements this code through training. The committee supervises registers of interests, advises on declarations and dispensations, and handles complaints and disciplinary matters within the Council's competence. It also oversees policies on the proper conduct of business and relations between members and officers, and considers findings from the Local Government Ombudsman.
