About

The Housing, Planning and Development Scrutiny Panel examines and reviews the Council's work in areas such as housing strategy, council housebuilding, housing services, private sector housing, homelessness, planning policy, and estate renewal.

This panel scrutinises decisions and performance of the Cabinet and Council officers, questions key personnel, and reviews the Council's progress against its policy objectives and targets. It can make recommendations to the Cabinet or other relevant committees, but its findings must first be approved by the Overview and Scrutiny Committee before being referred to the Cabinet or Council.
