About
The Licensing Committee is responsible for hearing major entertainment licensing applications, applications for sex establishments, and other licence applications covered by the Licensing Act. It operates in a quasi-judicial manner, applying strict impartiality and the rules of natural justice. The committee only considers applications that have received objections, allowing both applicants and objectors to present their case. Decisions are made based on legislation, and members should not be lobbied to maintain impartiality.
