About
The Planning Committee is made up of 11 Councillors and will reflect the proportionality of the Council. The committee determines planning applications that are not delegated to planning officers, with the exception of those referred to the committee in accordance with the scheme of delegation. Members of the public (applicants, agents, supporters, objectors and parish council representatives) have a right to speak to the Committee, so long as they contact Democratic Services by no later than noon two working days before the meeting (ie: by noon on a Monday where a committee meeting is held on Wednesday) and adhere to the Public Speaking Protocol. Late applications to speak at the meeting are likely to be refused. South Cambs District Council is committed to being transparent and open when the Council and its Members are involved in taking decisions. The Council will endeavour to live stream/record all its public Committee meetings, including the Planning Committee. These can then be watched online as the meeting happens or at any time after the meeting by watching via the Council's YouTube page [SouthCambsDC - YouTube.] This may not be possible on some occasions due to a technical fault with the equipment. Whilst this is frustrating, it is important to note that there is no legal requirement to record or livestream meetings. The meeting may proceed in-person only should there be an ICT failure on the day.
