About

The Cabinet, comprising the elected Mayor and Lead Members, is responsible for making most of the Council's major decisions within the budget and policy framework set by Full Council. It prepares and implements the Council's budget and plans, monitors their progress, and considers recommendations from scrutiny bodies and Executive Key Decisions. Decisions taken by the Mayor and Cabinet, particularly 'key decisions', are subject to a 28-day advance notice period published on the Council's website. The Mayor can also make individual Executive Decisions outside of formal Cabinet meetings.
