About

The Scrutiny Coordinating Committee oversees the work of other scrutiny committees within Waltham Forest Council. It coordinates the annual report on scrutiny's effectiveness and monitors the Cabinet forward plan, recommending specific decisions for scrutiny by individual committees. The committee can also commission informal groups to investigate cross-cutting issues and make recommendations to the Cabinet or Council. Its remit includes scrutinising the corporate framework, performance, central services, and the embedding of equalities, diversity, and inclusion within scrutiny activities. It also reviews and proposes adjustments to the overall structure of scrutiny.
