The Islington Council Planning Committee met on Monday 1 June 2026 to confirm the minutes of the previous meeting and to agree the political balance and membership of the Planning Sub-Committees. Political Balance of Planning Sub-Committees

The committee confirmed the size of the Planning Sub-Committees at five councillors each. Following the political balance rules, seats were allocated to reflect the overall council composition, with three seats for the Labour Group and two for the Green Group on both Planning Sub-Committee A and Planning Sub-Committee B. Councillor Kane Emerson was appointed Chair of Sub-Committee A, and Councillor Toby North was appointed Chair of Sub-Committee B. All members and substitute members of the Planning Committee were also confirmed as eligible to act as substitute members on the Planning Sub-Committees.
