The Local Government Reorganisation (LGR) Scrutiny Committee is scheduled to meet on Thursday 30 July 2026 to consider matters relating to local government reorganisation. The meeting will include discussions on the government's decision regarding local government reorganisation and its implications, as well as warding arrangements submissions.
Local Government Reorganisation Government Decision and Implications
A report from the Director of Legal and Democratic Services is scheduled to be presented for consideration. This report is expected to outline the government's decision on local government reorganisation and explore the potential implications arising from this decision.
Warding Arrangements Submission
The committee is also scheduled to review a submission concerning warding arrangements. A report from the Director of Legal and Democratic Services will be provided to inform this discussion. Warding arrangements refer to the division of a local authority's area into electoral districts, known as wards, for the purpose of electing councillors.
