The Cabinet of Devon County Council met on 8 April 2026 to discuss a range of significant issues, approving new governance arrangements for the Marlcombe New Town and East Devon Growth Corridor, endorsing the publication of the Devon Local Nature Recovery Strategy, and agreeing to extend the People First Strategy Action Plan. The meeting also addressed several Notices of Motion, including commitments to Fairtrade, community payback, and safeguarding community pharmacy access, alongside critical issues concerning non-adopted developments and the modernisation of the Tarka Line.

The Corporate Infrastructure and Regulatory Services Scrutiny Committee met on 25 March 2026 to discuss improving broadband connectivity in rural areas and the future delivery model for highways maintenance. The committee resolved to request a review of national broadband policy, establish a task force to monitor the voucher scheme, and review the decision not to endorse 5G on council assets. They also approved the establishment of a Standing Overview Group to scrutinise the upcoming highways maintenance contract.
