The Cabinet Member Signing meeting on Tuesday 15 September 2026 confirmed arrangements for a job-share Cabinet Member role for Health and Social Care and appointed members to the Corporate Parenting Committee and Community Safety Partnership. Councillor Mark Blake, Leader of the Council, presided over the meeting.

Arrangements for Job Share of Cabinet Member Portfolio for Health and Social Care

The meeting confirmed the arrangements for a job-share position for the Cabinet Member portfolio for Health and Social Care. This role will be split between Councillor Tehseen Khan and Councillor Hannah Ward, with each councillor holding the decision-making authority for six-month periods. Councillor Khan will be the lead decision-making Cabinet Member from 21 May 2026 to 24 November 2026, while Councillor Ward will serve in a non-decision-making, advisory capacity during this time. Subsequently, Councillor Ward will become the decision-making Cabinet Member from 24 November 2026 to 17 May 2027, with Councillor Khan taking on the advisory role. This arrangement ensures that the council adheres to its constitutional limit of 10 decision-making Cabinet members while allowing both councillors to develop and lead effectively in the portfolio. The voluntary special responsibility allowances for this role will be split equally between the two councillors.

Appointment of Membership for the Corporate Parenting Committee and Community Safety Partnership 2026/27

The meeting also agreed the membership for the Corporate Parenting Advisory Committee and the Community Safety Partnership for the 2026/27 municipal year. The establishment of the Corporate Parenting Advisory Committee aims to provide an overview of the council's statutory role as a corporate parent, supporting children in care and young people leaving care. The Community Safety Partnership, a statutory body, will enable high-level oversight of community safety issues in partnership with the police and other agencies. The appointed members for the Corporate Parenting Advisory Committee include Councillors Mark Blake, Nelly Tackie, Georgia Twigg, Seema Chandwani, Mark Grosskopf, Sarah Williams, and Imad Ahmed, with Councillor Blake serving as Chair. For the Community Safety Partnership, the appointed members are Councillors Ata Berk-Aksit (Chair), Dixie-Ann Joseph, and Andrew Reid, alongside representatives from statutory partners such as the Metropolitan Police and Haringey Fire Service.
