September 29, 2025 View on council websiteSummary
The McDonald Public Park Endowment Trustees are scheduled to meet on Monday, 29 September 2025. The agenda includes a review of landscape service activities, community work, path updates, allotment matters, and the Friends of McDonald Park group. The trustees are also expected to set the date for their next meeting.
Friends of McDonald Park
The trustees are scheduled to receive a verbal update on the Friends of McDonald Park.
The Public Reports Pack for the previous meeting on 21 April 2025 noted that there was hope that work could be done to revitalise the Friends of McDonald Park group, as input was welcome from volunteers in terms of ongoing works and activities held within the park. It was noted that should the group reform, they could undertake to register as a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) and work with volunteers to offer support with funding applications for the area, maintaining a link to the Trust where appropriate.
It was also noted that Ellon Golf Club had continued to carry out works within the park area and would welcome a revitalised Friends of McDonald Park group, who could use the Golf Club's facilities for their meetings.
McDonald Park Allotments
The trustees are scheduled to receive a verbal update on the McDonald Park Allotments.
Landscape Services Activities
The trustees are scheduled to receive a verbal update on landscape services activities. The Public Reports Pack for the previous meeting on 21 April 2025 noted that Aberdeenshire Council had developed a management plan for the park led by Landscape Services, with significant improvements having been made across the park in recent years.
Community Work Days/Events/Working with Groups and Schools and Update on Paths
The trustees are scheduled to receive verbal updates on community work days/events/working with groups and schools, and also on updates to paths.
Minute of Meeting of 21 April 2025
The trustees will be asked to approve the minute of the meeting of 21 April 2025.
The Public Reports Pack for that meeting records that the trustees:
(2) approved the proposal to deregister the McDonald Public Park Endowment from the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator, and (3) instructed finance and legal colleagues to submit the deregistration application to OSCR on behalf of Trustee Representatives.
