The Formartine Area Committee decided to approve the application for extraction only, not extraction and processing, on 09/06/2026. Authority to grant planning permission was delegated to the Head of Planning and Economy subject to a satisfactory Traffic Management Plan, agreement on tree species, and conclusion of a Section 75 agreement. The committee also requested an informal session to review planning consultation response formulation.

Formartine Area Committee of Aberdeenshire Council noted declarations of interest on 09/06/2026. Councillor Hassan declared a Transparency Statement regarding Item 8, and Councillor Nicol declared a Transparency Statement regarding Item 6. Both councillors concluded they would remain and participate in the determination of their respective items.

The Formartine Area Committee approved the Business Services' Area Committee Performance Indicator Report on 09/06/2026. The committee sought clarity on when buildings being sold were removed from performance figures and asked the Director to explore incorporating emissions and climate targets into building suitability assessments.

The Formartine Area Committee deferred consideration of Formartine Area Community Council Funding 2026-2027 on 09/06/2026. This deferral is pending a workshop with Education and Children’s Services regarding proposed let charges for community groups using education facilities.

The Integration Joint Board decided to appoint Dr Jon Blake as a non-voting Primary Care Adviser to the Board on 27/05/2026. They also noted the existing stakeholder vacancy on the Clinical and Adult Social Work Governance Committee and that efforts would continue to identify a nominee. The Board will review memberships in light of legislative changes to voting rights.
