Open Council Network is an independent organisation. We report on Sutton and are not the council. About us
The Beddington and Wallington Local Committee was scheduled to discuss updates from local community groups, the services provided by Citizens Advice Sutton, and the progress of the Responsible Dog Ownership Programme. The meeting also included a session for public questions and a community showcase.
Community Showcase
The committee was scheduled to receive updates from two local community groups: the Wallington Wellbeing Charity and Friends of Sherwood Park. This segment was intended to provide an overview of their work and outline how residents can get involved with their initiatives.
Citizens Advice Sutton
A presentation was planned from Citizens Advice Sutton, detailing how their services address the advice needs of residents within the Beddington and Wallington Local Committee area.
Responsible Dog Ownership Programme
An update on the Responsible Dog Ownership programme was scheduled to be presented. This would likely cover the progress and any developments related to the initiative aimed at promoting responsible pet ownership.
Public Questions
This item provided an opportunity for members of the public to raise questions concerning local issues. The agenda indicated that questions submitted in advance would receive a written response before the meeting, with the possibility of a follow-up question during the session. Questions submitted closer to the meeting date would receive a written response afterwards. Any questions asked, along with the name and any represented organisation of the questioner, were to be published.
Community Representative Change
The committee was to consider a request for an amendment to an appointed Community Representative. Susan Smith was proposed to replace Keith Knight as a representative for the Springboard Residents' Association, following a change in chairmanship within that organisation.
Urgent Business
The committee was to consider any items deemed urgent by the Chair, in accordance with Section 100B(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, due to special circumstances.
