The Standing Advisory Council on Religious Education (SACRE) met to discuss the progress of student-led projects exploring the impact of religious and non-religious worldviews on the local community, and to review the annual report on Religious Education outcomes in the borough. The meeting also included discussions on the upcoming review of the Agreed Syllabus for Religious Education.

Council - Monday, 13 July 2026 - 7.00 p.m.

The Council meeting on 13 July 2026 saw the appointment of Maria Christofi as the new Chief Executive and Head of Paid Service. Key discussions also included a motion to stand united against hatred and extremism, and a debate on ethical investment and divestment from companies involved in human rights violations.

Council - Wednesday, 20 May 2026 - 7.00 p.m.

Councillor Nate Higgins was elected as the new Chair of the Council, and Councillor Dr Rohit Kumar Dasgupta was elected as Vice Chair. The meeting also saw the Mayor, Forhad Hussain, announce his new Cabinet appointments.

The Council meeting scheduled for Monday 23 March 2026 was set to address a range of public questions, member questions, and review progress on key council priorities. The meeting also included reports on the findings of an Independent Commission on Inclusion and Belonging, and updates on the Council's Overview and Scrutiny work programme.
